MSTC’s 71st GRADUATION

From its original September 27 date, and then, October 5… at last, the Manpower Skills Training Center finally held its 71st commencement exercises last October 10, 2009 after the two postponements due to the typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.
The event started at 7:30 a.m. with a one-hour Baccalaureate Mass having the school Rector Fr. Anthony Paul E. Bicomong, SDB as the main celebrant concelebrated by its Technical Director Fr. Edwin L. Ulanday, SDB together with some Salesian priests. It was followed by the graduation proper at around 8:45 a.m.
One of the Technical Excellence awardees Mr. Raymond D. Dela Cruz (also Conduct Award, Perfect Attendance Award, & PGA Scholar)of Automobile Mechanic Course Evening Class Section B formally opened the ceremony with his welcome address. After this, the school Rector Fr. Anthony Paul E. Bicomong, SDB confirmed the 673 trainees from various courses including evening class as “graduates.” Attorney Rodolfo S. Untalan, president of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati Chapter led the Pledge of Loyalty of the graduates.
Mr. Jesus T. Romero, the MSTC Assistant Technical Director for Technical Affairs introduced the commencement speaker Mr. Thorsten Michael Hagel, Technical Training Manager of PGA Cars Incorporated who centered his message with this batch’s graduation theme “Educating The Young With The Heart of Don Bosco.”.jpg)
Consequently, the program proceeded to one of the highlights of the ceremony which is the distribution of diplomas and awarding of certificates and honors wherein out of 673 graduates,14 received the Technical Excellence Award while 35 were given the Conduct Award.
At the latter part of the program, the Batch72 trainees rendered the choreographed farewell song entitled “I Believe” followed by the farewell speech by one of the Technical Excellence Awardees, Mr. Aldrin T. Basalio ( Propeller Club Scholar) of Fitter Machinist Course Section C.
The program ended at 11:30 a.m. with Mr. Neil Apollo S. Dichoso and Mr. John D. Liban as masters of ceremony.
