GS TEACHERS EXPLORE MANILA OCEAN PARK
Posted November 9, 2009
Free from deadlines and away from the boys, the GS teachers devoted a day of fun and learning on October 30, 2009.
The day started with a mass at the Risen Christ Chapel, which was presided over by Fr. Renato “Degz” De Guzman, SDB. At around 9:00 o’clock, the group headed to Manila Ocean Park. An atmosphere of excitement covered the whole trip. The group arrived just in time for the highly anticipated mermaid show. After the acrobatic performanc es of the mermaids, the teachers were ushered into the “deep.”
The exploration began from Agos (Flow) which showcases artificial waterfall, flora and fauna display and a physical encounter with marine animals on display. Next stop was Bahura (Reef) which features the colorful Philippine underwater; then, Laot (Fishing Ground), which displays all kinds of fish in all different sizes and colors, before going into Buhay na Karagatan (Living Ocean) which presents a 25- meter walk underwater tunnel, closely connected to Ang Kalaliman (The Deep) which exhibits f eared marine inhabitants. An ‘ overhang tank’ monitors sting rays and shark interactions. The final stop was in the colorful jelly fish exhibit.
Makansutra, the Asian Food Village served palatable dishes for the teachers’ delightful taste.
The fun filled Manila Ocean Park adventure is a day truly worth engaging for teachers.
