Wins RIFA Football Cup
Posted February 15, 2010
It was one bright Sunday afternoon of January 24, 2010 as the Don Bosco - Makati Grade 2 Varsity Team headed by Coach Bobby de Jesus arrived at Ateneo University - Manila at 7:30 am.
Short in number, the team composed of Juan Paolo Lukban, Artuz Cezar, Fernando Magallanes, Jose Maria Sison, Miggy Tanate, Joshua Arones, Francisco Hidalgo, Jerome Gonzales, Mark Miralles, Jacob Sanchez and Carlo Bolleser, came with their parents, relatives and friends.
Like any other tournament, Coach Bobby made his line up for the first game and luckily it was a good starter as the team won against Hed Center (Antipolo) followed by other wins against Don Bosco Mandaluyong, La Salle Greenhills and Del Monte Football Club. The team also had a head on fight against Xavier School and Claret School which ended with a draw. With the team’s good standing after 6 games, the young and active players knew that they will make it to the semi finals..jpg)

When the semi-finals came, the team was matched with the Ateneo team - group B. They made a heart pounding score of 1-0 which led them to the final match, this time against The British School Manila team. The boys were intimidated with the blonde haired team but Coach Bobby encouraged them to beat the opponents with their teamwork and good play.

True enough, the team scored 2-0. Everybody screamed, jumped and shouted with joy upon winning the Championshipmatch against the much stronger British School Manila.
The challenging day ended at 5pm, with the tired players overflowing with joy and pride as they went home with their Championship trophy.
Congratulations to Coach Bobby, the players, parents, relatives and friends who supported our champions unmindful of the scorching heat of the sun.
