Don Bosco Technical Institute -Makati celebrated Rector’s Day, November 19, 2009, with color and joy. Along with other Salesian priests, Bosconians paid tribute to Fr. Anthony Paul Bicomong, SDB, Rector of DBTI-Makati.

The celebration started with a holy mass officiated by the birthday celebrator. The mass, concelebrated by his friends and colleagues , started with the entrance of colors headed by the Boy Scouts of DBTI -Makati. Representatives from each department of the EPC animated the songs. Revolving around the theme about vocation and humility, the mass highlighted the Rector’s journey towards the fulfillment of his vocation. The homily was the crowd’s most favorite part of the mass. Fr. Bicomong showed a series of tricky pictures that excited the crowd. Still, the crowd realized the message of not judging people based on how they look as part of humility and acceptance.

A short but meaningful program for the Rector’s birthday followed. It started with the entrance of the celebrator joined by the heads of each department and the Boy Scouts. The Grade School, then, entertained the audience with their rendition of a Michael Jackson hit paired with a heartfelt message. Highly-acclaimed Boscorale represented the High School  with their awesome rendition of the Jason Mraz hit “I’m yours”. The MSTC electrified the Magone Dome with their dance prowess ending their number with a special birthday song. The NTOP surprised everyone through a video presentation. The Salesians proved they had more to show when they presented a special number for our dear Rector using a video and a rendition of Dan Seal’s “One Friend”.

The program did not end there though. A surprise number was presented by the Grade Six pupils. To cap it all off, a joyous singing of the birthday song concluded the simple program. After Fr. Bicomong delivered his speech of gratitude, half day classes were declared.

The Rector’s day ended with a simple luncheon attended by the faculty, NTOP, and people close to the Rector’s heart.
