SENIORS SHARPENED ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS

POSTED December 16, 2008

The Seniors learn entrepreneurship in their Economics class.  They are expected to come up with a micro-enterprise as a practicum of the subject which the whole class will manage and supervise collaboratively.  This project comes in two parts:  planning and implementation of the business plan and implementation of the business plan during the foundation day celebrations.

Last November 27, 2008, the Seniors sharpened their entrepreneurial skills through a seminar facilitated by Mr. Alfredo G. Yatco III, an alumnus from DBTC - Mandaluyong.  He is a noted Christian entrepreneur with a heart who sets measurable, achievable, concrete and specific goals for all his businesses.  With his excellent managerial and people skills, he is able to build a team of professionals who collectively live out a common adage, “Growth and Prosperity with Honor.”  During his talk, he provided practical and down-to-earth information and guidance that will eventually empower these young people.  He presented the rudiments of enterprising into something understandable to the students.  He challenged the Seniors to go beyond the implementation phase but keep the entrepreneurial spirit going and the leadership alive by taking this project a step forward – to keep their business open even before they graduate.  He even assured the Seniors his support by presenting to agencies or institutions feasible business propositions.  This one-day seminar provided deeper insights to the Seniors that “going entrepreneur with a heart is a sure way to success.”
