THE MUSICAL CONCERT 2010

         The most awaited musical concert featuring the only harpist, singer, songwriter in Asia, Miss Noelle Cassandra was held last January 30, 2010. The concert started with the singing of the national anthem and invocation led by Fr. Junji Zarate, SDB. It was followed by a video presentation of our school’s past foundation celebrations, administrations and Salesians.

         Selected Grade School parents opened the program with a folk dance accompanied by a live rondalla band. Next to perform was “The Flux”, composed of 4th year students from Don Bosco-Makati and winner of the recently concluded BANDAGE. After their performance, it was the teachers’ time to shine. Ms. Genevieve of the Grade School sang “Love Story” and Mr. Carlo Jason of the MSTC sang “Use Somebody.” Then, they did a duet of “I’ve Got A Feeling.”

         The Grade School Glee Club with Mr. Ernie  Arcallana and Mrs. Los Banos as musical instructors performed two songs namely “May Ibong Ka kanta-kanta” and Love is the Answer.” It was a beautiful sight to see that young boys have so much talent to show.

         Finally, it was time for the Bosconians to listen to Miss Noelle Cassandra’s  music. The audience was captivated by her wit, beauty and music. Violinist Jamer Yapchulay, a fourth year Bosconian joined in the performance.

         Other performances included The MSTC Dance Troupe doing a remix hip-hop and street dance number which pumped up the audience.The High School Boschorale, winner of several choral competitions and under the tutelage of Mr. Alvin Paulin, performed their winning musical pieces.

         To wrap up the night of captivating music, Miss Noelle Cassandra led all performers in the singing of the hymn, "St. John Bosco, Our Loving Father”. As the performers took a bow, they were delightfully applauded by the audience in appreciation for their musical talents.

         It was a night to behold. Bosconians did not only surprise everyone with their musical virtuosity. They impressed on everyone that talents are God’s gift to us and must be shared.
