Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati Badminton and Table Tennis Varsity Teams whipped all participating teams in the Division Meet last November 23-27, 2009.
Playing to the best of five matches comprising boys’ singles and doubles, DBTI –Makati took the four games against the participating institutions and won the victory at the Division Meet 2009 held at the Don Bosco - Makati Gymnasium. Badminton games both for elementary and secondary were played at the DBTI Wooden Court, Table Tennis Elementary at the Gymnasium Mezzanine and the Secondary Table Tennis at the Gymnasium Side court.
Competing against Don Bosco Technical Institute - Makati in the final games were Fort Bonifacio National High School, Pio National High School, Bangkal National High School and Makati High School.
The performance of the Bosconian Badminton and Table Tennis Varsity players brought back memories of the institution’s heydays of the past years. Benigno “Ninoy” Enciso, Jason Hildawa, (do ubles) and Justine Sullera Singles) worked hard for the Smash Victory for this year resulting in DBTI – Makati’s keeping the title for the past five years. On the other hand, the excellent defense and attack made by the DBTI table tennis players Joseph Manlapaz, Christian Arsenio, Joshua Marquez, Dave Mendoza and Mark Ortiz slowed down the performance of their opponents from Makati High School and thus, making them the champions too.
Excitement is brewing among the Champions! The DBTI High School Badminton Team, High School Table Tennis Team and Grade School Basketball Team will be representing the City of Makati in the National Capital Region (NCR) Palaro this coming January 2010. Will they garner victory points again for our school? Hopefully, yes they will!
Kudos to the two coaches, Mr. Ramil Sta. Ana (Table Tennis) and Mr. Francis Banania (Badminton) who trained the Champions.
