MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE CENTER -(MIC)

Short History

In 1999 Fr. Caesar Dizon, SDB, former rector of Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati City, spearheaded a special project and organized a working team to conceptualize the development of a new learning center called MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE CENTER. This center is patterned from the theory of Dr. Howard Gardner who believed that every man has his own kind of intelligence and potential as a person.

The MIC was conceived to make students, teachers and personnel to be in touch with technological change. This change reflects a major challenge present in today's society-that is, the use of modern technology in all aspects of humanity. The MIC became a learning center equipped with the state-of-the-art technology and incorporating modern theories and principles.

In August 15, 2000, after its blessing by the Rector, the new MIC became functional with the appointment of Ms.Ofelia Dantes as its first MIC Head.

Mission Statement

The Multiple Intelligences Center is a vital component of the school system. It exists to support the teaching and learning process, to meet the curricular needs of its users and to promote the use of technology.
In the fulfillment of its mission, the MIC ensures its clientele to become critical thinkers and effective users of ideas, information and technology specially preparing the students to technology career paths. Thus, the MIC's mission is to facilitate learning and the development of the multiple intelligences by providing varied learning resources and giving assistance in the use of multi-media and information technology.
The mission of the center gives credence to the Vision-Mission of the school which states: We, the Educative-Pastoral Community of Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati, envision the young as empowered servant-leaders in the church and society and as competent young men for technology-related courses and careers.
